How to install the cookie banner on Google Tag Manager
Step by step, in about 5 minutes.
Your script
You'll find it in the dashboard, under Installation, with your site ID already filled in.

- It's best to paste the script straight into your site: that way it blocks everything from the start.
- If you can only use GTM: create a “Custom HTML” tag with the script.
- Give it the “Consent Initialization - All Pages” trigger.
- Cookigator turns on Google Consent Mode v2 and sends the cookigator_consent_update event for your other tags.
After installing
- Click “Verify installation” in the dashboard: it tells you if it's in the right place.
- If you have embedded videos or maps, change src to data-cookigator-src.
- Paste the declaration script on your cookie policy page.
